Grupos de Trabajo
Este proyecto apunta a la síntesis, purificación y caracterización de nuevos compuestos inorgánicos y orgánicos y al estudio estructural de sustancias sintetizadas en nuestro laboratorio para determinar sus reactividades químicas. Se abordan las síntesis y estudios estructurales de derivados iónicos y covalentes tales como 2- haloetil sulfonatos y derivados del ácido trifluorometansulfónico que contienen grupo fenilo. Se determinan los campos de fuerza moleculares y se correlacionan las propiedades de las moléculas en estudio según las series que se aborden.
Asimismo se aborda la química de biomoléculas en membranas celulares, analizando la interacción de membranas lipídicas artificiales (liposomas) con distintos tipos de solutos de interés biológico tales como tioésteres, compuestos polihidroxilados y diferentes aminoácidos, a efectos de dilucidar las propiedades químicas asociadas a los sitios específicos de interacción sobre las bicapas lipídicas y su mecanismo de acción (efectos tóxico, quimio y/o crioprotector) con el fin de aportar conocimientos sobre la biofísica de membranas complejas, sus propiedades de permeabilidad selectiva y su respuesta a cambios en las condiciones de hidratación.
Ambas áreas de estudio se abordan mediante metodologías comunes, tales como técnicas espectroscópicas en infrarrojo, Raman, UV-visible, complementándose el análisis con otras herramientas: espectroscopía RMN, difracción de Rayos X, dicroísmo circular, Calorimetría Diferencial de Barrido (DSC), Análisis Termogravimétrico (TGA), Análisis Térmico Diferencial (DTA) y cálculos químico-cuánticos.
